Who are we?
We are a specialized development and financial institution dedicated to promoting growth and development of entrepreneurship in Slovenia, operating according to the best global practices. Our primary mission is to provide favourable financial resources for startups, high-growth, innovative and other micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Slovenia, enabling them to realize planned growth and penetration into increasingly demanding and specialized markets.
At the Slovene Enterprise Fund (SEF) we also assist companies with rich content programs for business and development competencies, such as vouchers, mentoring programs, training and networking programs, various professional services, and business networking. Various professional partners also play an important role in the endeavour.
We are a significant co-creator of the Slovenian startup ecosystem and entrepreneurial ecosystem, as well as a connector of various entrepreneurial networks and advisory institutions to enhance the innovative orientation of SMEs in the Slovenian business environment.
In our operations, we represent the European Union’s goals regarding support for entrepreneurship, research, development, and employment growth. In implementing development incentives, we support investments in sustainable development to encourage companies to focus as much as possible on circular, digital, green, and socially beneficial business practices.
We operate as an efficient public institution based on the principles of simplicity, transparency, and compliance with ESG principles in our operations.
SEF offers anually over EUR 100 m in various forms of development incentives for support of over 3000 projects, stimulating around EUR 230 m in new investments in the economy each year.

With various developmental incentives, we not only assist SMEs in their day-to-day operations or company growth but also encourage the search for solutions to global challenges, from climate change and sustainable energy to healthy living and food. We also contribute to the digitization and advancement of digital technologies in our SMEs.
The Slovenian Enterprise Fund is the holder of the Certificate of Conformity
with the Code of Conduct for Microcredit Providers issued by the European Commission.
