Timeline and important milestones of the Slovene Enterprise Fund

More than 20 years of financial support for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Slovenia

  • Introduction of an electronic documentary system and its integration with ePortal.
  • In 2021, we signed an agreement with the EIF under the Pan-European Guarantee Fund, which enables the insurance of SEF credit lines and thus the transfer of risk.
  • Successful approval of two projects of international development in cooperation within UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization), namely: UNIDO-CUBA-SLOVENIA: “Establishment of a common innovation cluster with emphasis on the bio-pharmaceutical industry, medicine and nanotechnology 2020 – 2021” and UNIDO-SERBIA-SLOVENIA: “Promoting smart production by building an innovation system in Serbia”.
  • Start of establishing a digital documentary system – ePortal. As the Slovenian Enterprise Fund follows the guidelines for digital transformation. We has introduced digital business models in its operations and in this way optimized our processes, with efficient work methods for even greater productivity.
  • With the introduction of electronic submission of applications through ePortal, we enabled companies to submit the entire application for a public tender or call quickly, securely and easily.
  • The Slovenian Enterprise Fund received a Certificate of compliance with the Code of Good Conduct for microcredit providers, issued by the European Commission.
Signed second annex to the Counter-guarantee agreement with EIF under the EU Programme for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and SMEs 2014-2020 (COSME 2014-2020) for prolong the availability period for two years and increase the volume.
Signed new Guarantee agreement with EIF under the Programme for Employment and Social Innovation 2014 – 2020 (EaSI 2014-2020) for a period of five year.
Signed first annex to the Counter-guarantee agreement with EIF under the EU Programme for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and SMEs 2014-2020 (COSME 2014-2020) for prolong the availability period for one year and increase the volume.

The publication of the first public tender, which included funds from the European Regional Development Fund
Fur the purpose of development of small entrepreneurship the Public Fund for Small Business Development of Slovenia is transformed into the Public Fund of the Republic of Slovenia for Entrepreneurship with the abbreviated name Slovene Enterprise Fund (Act Regulating Supportive Environment for Entrepreneurship OJ RS, Nr. 40/2044 and Founding act of the Fund OJ RS, Nr. 112/2004)
Obtaining the certificate ISO 9001: 2000 for quality management system in the field of promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises for investments with help of financial products
Relocation of the Fund from Ljubljana to Maribor.
With the introduction of the Public Funds Act (Official Gazette of RS, No. 22/2000) the Fund is transformed into a public financial fund and given the name Public Fund for Small Business Development
The Management Board of the Fund adopts the Statute of the Republic of Slovenia for the development of small businesses and the Slovene Government gives its consent to the Statute of the Fund
