Purpose of Funding
The Slovenian Enterprise Fund (SEF) follows the guidelines of the European Union in implementing development incentive programs. Therefore, within the financial line of special incentives with non-repayable funds or blending financing (combination of repayable and non-repayable funds), it supports specific target groups of companies or specific development areas that are recognized within the European Union as priority areas for investment of development funds.
With special incentives, SEF finances specific development areas of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises:
- Implementing digital transformation of production and business processes
- Woodworking industry, as wood is a strategic raw material, therefore the wood processing industry is classified as an important and promising economic sector
- Demonstrating material and energy efficiency of production (circular green economy)
The goal of special incentives is to enable further growth and development of supported companies, increase added value per employee, and create new jobs.
Description of Funding
Companies can apply for special incentives directly from SEF.

Easy and fast procedure for obtaining special incentives
1
Publication of the call for tenders
The calls for tenders for special incentives are published on the SEFs website and in The Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia. A company wishing to apply for a special incentive for a specific development area via the SEF is informed of the application requirements in the published call for tenders, which is available on the SEFs website.
2
Easy and quick submission of the online application
After successfully completing the application form, it has to be submitted via the ePortal. Applicants search for the relevant call reference for the call of tender they wish to apply for and fill in the application form as instructed.
3
Application processing and decree issuance
The SEF reviews the application. In the event of an incompletely submitted application, the SEF will urge the applicant to complete it. The complete applications, which also comply with all of the requirements set out in the call for tenders, will be approved and funded within the limits of the available funds. The SEF informs the company of its decision to grant co-financing in the form of a decision.
4
Signing agreement with the SEF
If the application is approved, the SEF and the company enter into a co-financing agreement. The contract signing is carried out by means of a qualified digital certificate for business entities.

The payment request is submitted via e-mail.
