In 2026, EUR 159 million of SEF development incentives will be available to companies

In 2026, the Slovene Enterprise Fund (SEF) plans to announce several public tenders and calls for proposals aimed at promoting the development of entrepreneurship and improving access to finance for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Slovenia.

In 2026, the SEF is expected to provide companies with:

  • to approve approximately EUR 159 million in development incentives,
  • to support around 2.900 business projects.

Development incentives will be available in the form of guarantees, loans, microloans, start-up subsidies, special sustainability incentives and vouchers to boost business competencies.

Key highlights of the planned announcements:

  • Guarantees for bank loans (P1 plus 2026) of up to EUR 73 million for investments and working capital,
  • Microloans and liquidity loans (P7, P7-2, P7L, P7R) to ensure the liquidity of SMEs,
  • Start-up incentives (P2, P2R) for innovative start-ups and companies in border problem areas,
  • Special incentives for sustainable development, with an emphasis on the wood processing industry,
  • Vouchers for LCA analyses, prototyping, certificates, cybersecurity and the preparation of ESG reports.
