Purpose of the voucher

  • The purpose of the voucher is to enable companies to conduct a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study to evaluate the environmental impacts of their products, services, or processes throughout their entire life cycle.
  • The voucher promotes more sustainable business operations by allowing companies to identify key environmental impacts based on expert analysis and find opportunities for improvement, resource optimization, and reduction of their environmental footprint.
  • The co-financing is intended to cover the costs of external experts for the preparation of the LCA analysis, conducted in accordance with international standards ISO 14040 and 14044 and the ILCD methodology.

Amount of funding

  • 60% co-financing of eligible costs
  • Maximum subsidy: EUR 6,665.00 (lump sum)

Funds available

  • EUR 0.5 million for the 2026–2028 period

Eligible applicants

  • micro, small and medium-sized enterprises based in the Republic of Slovenia, which, as legal or natural persons, are engaged in economic activity and are organised as companies or self-employed individuals or cooperatives

Eligible costs

  • Within the framework of the public call, the preparation of a Life Cycle Assessment study (LCA analysis) carried out by an external expert or contractor in accordance with international standards ISO 14040, ISO 14044, and the ILCD Handbook is co-financed.
  • During the 2026–2028 period, companies can claim co-financing for one (1) LCA analysis, provided they have not received public funds for this type of activity since 2021.
  • Co-financing is awarded in the form of a lump sum of EUR 6,665.00, which is fixed and independent of the actual project costs. The amount is intended to cover the costs of external contractor services for performing the LCA analysis.
  • SMEs can claim costs incurred in the period from the publication of the public call (April 17, 2026) to the 30th. 9. 2028.
  • Activities that will be carried out and paid for within the eligibility period specified in the co-financing contract will be eligible for co-financing. The beneficiary must carry out all activities before submitting the payment request.

Special conditions

  • The company must have at least 3 employees for the duration of the project.
  • An external contractor must be selected from the official SEF records.
  • The contractor must be selected at a market (economical) price.
  • The contractor and the applicant may not act in both roles or be interconnected.
  • A prior consultation with the contractor is mandatory before applying.
  • An individual expert can prepare a maximum of 5 co-financed analyses per year.
  • The LCA analysis must be performed after the publication of the public call.
  • Activities must correspond to the eligible costs of the call.
  • Costs are not eligible in the case of ownership, management, or family ties between the company and the contractor.
