Slovene Enterprise Fund announces public call for subsidised loans for companies in the wood industry

The Slovene Enterprise Fund (hereinafter SEF) has announced the public call P4L 2026 – Subsidised loans for companies in the wood industry, aimed at promoting investments in modern, sustainable and energy-efficient production processes in the wood processing sector. The financial instrument is implemented with funds from the Holding Fund, managed by SID – Slovene Export and Development Bank with the support of the European Union under the European cohesion policy 2021–2027.

A total of EUR 15 million in loan funds has been allocated for the implementation of the call, of which EUR 5.1 million in subsidies will be awarded to beneficiaries in the form of partial write-off of the loan principal upon successful completion of the investment.
Micro, small, medium-sized and also larger companies with up to 3,000 employees operating in the field of wood processing and furniture production will be eligible for financing. Companies will be able to obtain loans ranging from EUR 100,000 to EUR 2.5 million, whereby the loan may cover up to 75 percent of eligible project costs.
Eligible project costs must amount to at least EUR 135,000 and be incurred in the period from the submission of the application until 31 December 2027 at the latest. Loans are granted with a maturity of up to 15 years and the possibility of a moratorium on principal repayment of up to 24 months with the possibility of extension to 36 months. Financing is without approval and management costs, and the subsidy is granted in the form of partial write-off of the loan principal upon successful completion of the investment.
Investments in new machinery, equipment and software solutions aimed at technological advancement, improvement of processing capacities and more efficient use of resources and energy will be supported. Priority will be given to projects that introduce advanced technological solutions, digitalisation of production and products with higher added value.
The purpose of the call is to strengthen the competitiveness of the Slovene wood processing industry, promote more efficient use of wood as a strategic raw material and contribute to the transition to a low-carbon and circular economy.
Applications may be submitted electronically via the SEF ePortal.
The call provides for two application deadlines:
· 20 August 2026 until 2:00 PM,
· 20 September 2026 until 2:00 PM.
