Slovenian Companies Strengthen International Ties at European Hydrogen Week
Date of publication: 05.11.2026

The Slovene Enterprise Fund has established the Hydrogen Industry Development Partnership among SMEs in Slovenia, which connects companies, institutions, and experts in advanced energy technologies. By joining the Global Hydrogen Industrial Partnership under the auspices of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Slovenian companies gain access to international knowledge, experience, and new opportunities for cooperation in green energy transition projects.
During the visit, companies IMP Promont and H2 Integrator, which participate in project activities in partnership with UNIDO, presented their competencies, reference projects, and current activities in the field of hydrogen technologies. They first presented at the Slovenian Embassy in Brussels, and then at the event Green. Creative & Smart Slovenia – Your Partner in the Green Transition, organized by SPIRIT Slovenia within the framework of European Hydrogen Week.
The presentations attracted the interest of potential partners and contributed to greater recognition of Slovenian companies in the European hydrogen market. Participants showed interest in their experiences and solutions, which opens up opportunities for further networking and the development of joint projects.
The importance of hydrogen technologies for the Slovenian economy was also emphasized by the representative of the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport, Nena Dokuzov, who highlighted the strategic role of hydrogen in the green transition and support for the IPCEI Hydrogen project, in which IMP Promont cooperates with Petrol.
New Opportunities for International and Development Cooperation
A significant outcome of the visit was also the strengthening of ties with the Milan Vidmar Electric Power Research Institute (EIMV). Discussions focused on possibilities for technical and project cooperation with H2 Integrator, including within the framework of a potential continuation of project activities with UNIDO.
Representatives of the development partnership also familiarized themselves with the current project activities of Termoelektrarna Šoštanj (TEŠ) and Holding Slovenske elektrarne (HSE), which represent additional opportunities for networking and cooperation in the field of hydrogen technologies.
In the future, activities will focus on upgrading established contacts, identifying common development interests, and forming concrete opportunities for cooperation in hydrogen projects.
SEF, through development partnerships, connects Slovenian companies with domestic and international partners, opening new opportunities for development, innovation, and integration into international projects. The Hydrogen Industry Development Partnership thus contributes to strengthening the Slovenian hydrogen ecosystem, knowledge transfer, and the integration of Slovenian companies into European development trends.
