Purpose of the voucher
To encourage micro, small and medium-sized enterprises to protect intellectual property in order to:
- contribute to the growth and reputation of the company
- strengthen competitiveness
- strengthen market position
With the help of the voucher, companies will be able to co-finance eligible costs related to:
- preparation of patent, design, and trademark applications
- application and/or registration and/or grant and/or maintenance and/or extension of a patent, design, trademark abroad
- translation of the application
Amount of funding
- 60% co-financing of eligible costs
- Minimum subsidy: EUR 500.00
- Maximum subsidy: EUR 5,000.00
Funds available
- EUR 2.0 million for the period 2024–2028
Eligible applicants
- micro, small and medium-sized enterprises based in the Republic of Slovenia, which, as legal or natural persons, are engaged in economic activity and are organised as companies or self-employed individuals or cooperatives
Eligible costs
- Costs of preparing documentation for the application and/or maintenance and/or extension of a patent, design, trademark abroad
- Application costs and/or registration procedure and/or grant and/or maintenance for a patent, design, trademark
- Translation costs of the application
VAT is not an eligible cost.
Period of eligible costs: SMEs can claim costs incurred in the period from 1 January 2024 to 30 September 2028.
Activities that will be carried out and paid for within the eligibility period specified in the co-financing agreement will be eligible for co-financing. The beneficiary must carry out all activities before submitting the payment request.
Special conditions
- In the application, the SME must state the external contractor, if the SME decides to use one, and obtain the service at market price
- When selecting an external contractor, the SME must act economically and obtain the service at market price
- External contractors under this public call are:
- patent agents and representatives for designs and trademarks, entered in the register of representatives maintained by the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Slovenia
- foreign patent agents who can act before individual offices
- translators of the application for which eligible costs will be claimed under this public call
- SMEs can obtain funds several times a year for this public call
